Overview

The Audi TT Coupe is a two-door luxury sports car manufactured by Audi AG. Built on the Volkswagen A platform, the Audi TT Coupe is available in an all-wheel drive (AWD) version and a 2+2 seater configuration.

The TT Coupe first appeared as a concept at the 1995 Frankfurt show, and debuted in the U.S. for the model year 2000. However, it has been brought to India only in 2007.

In India, the Audi TT Coupe is available as a single variant. It comes with a basic vehicle and powertrain warranty of four years or 50,000 miles.

The Audi TT Coupe competes with the likes of Audi A3, Volkswagen Golf, Skoda Octavia, SEAT Len, and Volkswagen New Beetle.

Powertrain & Performance

The Audi TT Coupe derives power from a high-revving 3.2-liter V6 double overhead camshaft (DOHC) engine that delivers 250 bhp and 320 Nm of torque. The engine is linked to a 6-speed manual transmission, synchromesh on all gears. The TT Coupe features hydraulically operated single-plate dry clutch with asbestos-free and lead-free linings.

The front suspension system comprises of McPherson struts with aluminum lower wishbones, aluminum pivot bearings, aluminum sub-frame, anti-roll bar, and a track-stabilizing steering roll radius. The rear suspension consists of a four-link system with a separate spring/shock absorber arrangement, an aluminum sub-frame, and a tubular anti-roll bar.

The TT Coupe also features an Audi magnetic ride, a revolutionary suspension system that automatically and continuously adapts the suspension damping to the actual driving situation. There are two basic settings that you can choose from for the Audi magnetic ride: Standard and Sport.

A dual-circuit brake system with diagonal split, ESP, hydraulic brake assist, and ventilated disc brakes in the front and rear provide forceful stopping power to the Audi TT Coupe.

It is navigated by an electro-mechanical steering with speed-dependent power assistance.

Build & Styling

New Audi TT Car - Interior

Audi TT Review Izmo-a23

The Audi TT Coupe looks terrific inside and out. It measures 4178 mm in length and stands on a wheelbase of 2468 mm. Its rounded edges give it a graceful appearance. The TT Coupe has got exceptionally short front and rear overhangs, and a low roofline, which sharply slants towards the rear deck. A wide track and prominently flared wheel arches add further to its powerful feel and stylish looks.

The TT Coupe comes standard with xenon plus halogen headlights with the option of adaptive light-cornering lights, which improve visibility in adverse weather and light conditions. Also standard is an exterior light styling pack, which includes chrome-detailed headlight surrounds and darkened rear light clusters. The sports car features rear lights of clear-glass appearance. These lights make the TT Coupes rear look striking and also provide exceptional visual depth. The lights' styling package further enhances their remarkable appearance.

The TT Coupe features a standard retractable rear spoiler that extends automatically at 75 mph and retracts automatically again at 50 mph. The driver can also manually activate the spoiler to suit driving conditions.

The TT Coupe rolls on 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels, which enhance the cars sporty looks while also improving its handling. Another feature that beautifies the TT Coupe is the aluminum tank cap that bears a tastefully embossed TT logo. The TT Coupe boasts of leather-trimmed front sports seats and split-folding rear seats. Also standard are heated and height-adjustable front seats. The ergonomically-shaped, low-positioned sports seats provide effective lateral support, and can be adjusted to suit individual needs.

It also offers enhanced convenience with a standard leather-wrapped steering wheel, leather handbrake grip, a centre console armrest pad, and door handles.

Some other standard convenience features on the TT Coupe are tinted glasses, electrically-operated and heated door mirrors, and electronic climate control. The TT Coupe comes with a luggage compartment capacity of 290 litres, which can be stretched to 700 litres by folding the rear seat down.

For entertainment, the TT Coupe features a standard Concert II audio system and chorus radio with CD player, while CD navigation, BOSE surround sound, and a mobile phone preparation with Bluetooth interface are just some of the options available.

To ensure safety of occupants, the TT Coupe has been built on the Audi Space Frame (ASF) with a unique body concept that is in total harmony with its sports car character. The ASF with its innovative combination of aluminum and steel delivers enhanced handling dynamics, improved stability, and better acceleration.

It also comes packed with a bevy of safety features such as driver and front passenger airbags, side airbags for front seats, front ISOFIX and front passenger airbag de-activation switch, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), radio remote-controlled central locking, seat belt reminder, tyre mobility system, and an anti-theft-device.
