Powertrain & Performance

Powerful design, innovative technology and high-performance engines define Audis high standards in the luxury class. Topping the list is the 12-cylinder engine in the A8 6.0 Quattro, the benchmark of design and technology. The luxury saloon combines Quattro four-wheel drive, an all-aluminium body based on the ASF (Audi Space Frame) principle and adaptive air suspension, plus a wide range of high-torque, high-performance V6 and V8 engines. The 12-cylinder A8 places Audi in the highest standards in respect of dynamism in the luxury car segment. It is synonymous with elegance and power to the maximum level.

The 6.0-litre W12 is observably the top in its class, which has a whopping 450 bhp of power and shoots out 580 Nm of torque that fires out 2300 rpm to 5300 rpm. Transmitting the drive from the engine to the Quattro permanent 4WD system is the dazzling six-speed Tiptronic transmission, which shifts impeccably. This amazing automobile sprints to 100 kmph in 5.1 seconds. The 4.2L V8 petrol pumps out 328 bhp and the 3.0L V6 turbo-diesel dispenses 228 bhp.

Build & Styling



With its sporty luxury look, the Audi A8 saloon sets standards with its new design and innovative technology. The Audi A8 long-wheelbase version has luxurious amounts of space and its dynamic design makes the A8 a sporty touring saloon. All the Audi A8 variants have an all-aluminium body. The Audi A8 Quattro comes to India in the elongated version with an impressive 5181 mm in length. Its silky curving lines, flat front, a short overhang at one end and a high imposing tail at the other give it a wedge shape. The increasing shoulder-line gives the feeling that the car is compact though it is actually quite large.

The trademark broad double-grille is obvious in all the models. The broad headlights on the tubular light units are clearly visible due to its lucid glass; rear tail lamps have a high amount of radiance in the LEDs. The single-frame grille combines the upper and lower grille sections to form a powerful-looking trapezoidal unit. Wheels and tyres display uniqueness with the presence of special alloy wheels. The modern, leather-covered, multifunction steering wheel is available for the A8 with controls at the finger tips to control the functions of the Multi Media Interface. Exclusive leather interiors and air-conditioned seats offer optimum seating ergonomics with electronic seat adjustment and adequate legroom.

In the A8, the front passenger-seat can be adjusted from the rear. This increases the legroom of the passenger sitting behind up to 1,075 mm. Individual rear seats are a special feature in the A8. The 12-cylinder A8 is definitely vibrant in appearance, from the single-frame radiator grille to the particularly striking tailpipe design. The wheelbase of the A8 W12 Quattro is 130 mm more than the standard A8, adding extra comfort to the rear passengers.

Anti-theft system, electromechanical parking brake, integrated fog lamps, front seat belts and side guards form the safety features of this massive body. The Electronic Stabilization Program helps to control the car, Electronic Brake-Force Distribution balances the car during a sudden stop and Brake Assist helps the driver to operate them at ease.
